Before joining the Caraway team, she served as communications specialist for D.C. Councilmember Muriel Bowser (Ward 4). Phallan successfully led efforts to increase the level of exposure in both print and broadcast media of important initiatives and legislation. As operations manager for The Caraway Group, Lisa manages office and logistical matters. With more than 10 years of event planning experience, Lisa Hargrove has managed events and major budgets for some of the country's most influential political figures. As executive assistant to the chief of staff and director of operations for the Democratic National Convention Committee, Lisa served as a liaison between the CEO, elected officials and labor unions, and coordinated media briefings and interviews. Yoji's 13 years of experience as a journalist covering issues that are relevant to diverse groups has been rewarding to the Caraway team and the audiences he's touched. As a senior advisor, Yoji follows client projects and writes stories for placement in the country's top publications. In 2003, after working as a senior journalist for DiversityInc, he became its Los Angeles bureau chief. Yoji was also responsible for producing subscriber-generating special sections for DiversityInc. One of note was the monthly celebrity section, "My 5 Rules for Success." Most recently he served as vice president at GMMB Inc., a public relations firm based in Washington, DC. Throughout his career, Paul has written for award-winning publications including, the Associated Press, the New York Times, The Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune. Cheryl Martin leads media coaching and training for The Caraway Group. Cheryl was the popular moderator of "Lead Story," a Sunday news analysis program on Black Entertainment Television (BET) for five years. The show brought together some of the top African-American journalists to discuss the major national and international news events of the week. During the 2000 presidential election campaign, Cheryl hosted "Lead Story" from the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.
